Hole 15

Par 5  -  600 yards

Middle Tee - 575 yards
Front Tee - 560 yards

The 6th or 7th might challenge the 15th in
calling itself the "signature hole" at Butter Valley.
Being 600 yards long and running alongside
an airstrip certainly makes this hole unique.

The good news is... this 600 yard hole is all downhill. The
bad news is... it's still 600 yards. The fairway goes a little right off-
the-tee with a wooded area on the right and a lot of troublesome
trees on the left.

Tip: You want to land your tee shot on the left side of the fairway
for the most direct line and distance, but stay away from the trees.
Be careful with your alignment. It's hard to get visually oriented
from the tee box. The fairway bends right and the tee aims
straight.

The fairway turns a little left and is even more downhill
for your second shot. A solid wood will travel a long way and will
go a long way toward helping you score here.

Tip: The only trouble you can get into is if you lose the shot to the
right. Then you'll have to deal with some big overhanging trees.
Favor the left for your best approach to the green.

With two good shots you'll be within 100-150 yards from
the green. The elevated putting surface slopes toward you helping
to hold your incoming shot.

Tip: Take special note of the pin position in determining your
club selection. You don't want to have a 60 foot putt on this
green. Come in with a controlled, low ball flight if you can. Try
to keep every shot to the right and short of the hole. However,
be aware of the big drop-off right of the green.

The green is 90 feet deep and just 60 feet wide. It tilts to
the front and right. Missing the green to the right will require a
high, soft lob shot recovery to the putting surface above you.

Tip: Picture the green as a clock-face. The easiest, straightest putts
will come from "4 o'clock".

HOLE GOAL: Play this hole well and you'll have a good
story to tell for months, maybe years. Try to reach the green
in two... try to make an eagle or bird... try to get back to
reality. Take a par.
