Green hazard... fairway bunkers.

Hole 1

Par 4  -  325 yards

Middle Tee - 310 yards
Front Tee - 265 yards

This par 4 is a good opening hole.
It's not long, but requires a tee shot in the fairway
to get your round started on a positive note.

This new back tee location turns the hole into a slight
dogleg and makes that first shot of the day a bit tougher. Right
will reach the sand and left will find the trees.

Tip: If you feel shaky about using the driver, especially early in
the round, take a 3 wood or even less club. With solid contact,
you'll only have a short iron to the green and more importantly,
you'll start the day right... right in the fairway.

Hopefully, your second shot will look like this... about
100 yards from the putting surface. Hitting to an elevated green,
you'll need another 5 or 10 yards more than you think. However,
coming up short is better than being above the hole or over the
green. There's a new bunker short-left.

Tip: Aim a bit right with your approach. The lie will tend to
make you pull the shot.

Just left of the green.

You definitely want to avoid the Pampas Grass plants to
the left and back of the green. The putting surface slopes slightly
back-to-front and right-to-left.

Tip: Really "lag" the downhill putts with just enough speed to
reach the hole. It's faster downhill than you think... and slower
uphill.

HOLE GOAL: Finding the fairway is job one. Four's the
score! But, don't get real bummed with a 5 start.
